Description

Centrale Nantes, a leading engineering school, is one of the key players in research, innovation and education in the field of marine renewable energy. Backed by more than 30 years of expertise, Centrale Nantes combines ocean engineering testing facilities that are unique in Europe with recognised know-how spanning modelling, simulation and experimental testing. Its expertise serves offshore wind, tidal and wave energy, as well as control systems, grid integration and system durability. This strength is also reflected in its educational offer, from the general engineering curriculum to the specialised engineering degree in ocean engineering, delivered in partnership with ITII Pays de la Loire, the apprenticeship training centre for the region’s leading engineering schools, recognised for its expertise in engineering degree apprenticeships, and including a third-year track dedicated to renewable energy in the marine environment. It also extends to executive education programmes dedicated to marine renewable energy, ranging from certificate courses to short programmes, which is now being enhanced by new, transformative projects. These include the creation of innovative teaching tools (such as video games and educational simulators), as well as the development of a revamped programme designed to closely reflect the operational needs on the ground. Centrale Nantes has forged strong links with industry through collaborative projects, joint teams, research chairs, incubation and start-up creation.
