Description
François Charlet holds a Master’s degree in Marine Geology and Sedimentology from the University of Lille I (France). He began his career in 2001, as a Scientific Researcher at the Renard Centre of Marine Geology (RCMG) at Ghent University. In 2005, he joined the DEME-Group as a Marine Geologist, primarily focusing on soil investigations for international dredging projects. In 2013, Mr. Charlet transitioned to Global Sea Mineral Resources (GSR), taking on the role of Exploration Manager and Training Coordinator. In this capacity, he led and participated in multiple offshore exploration and research expeditions in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone (CCZ) and the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Cook Islands. Over the years, he has successfully led or contributed to eight research campaigns, mainly centered on resource assessment, environmental baseline studies, and environmental impact monitoring. Additionally, he took part in three expeditions dedicated to deep-sea technology development.
Since 2025, François is serving as Business Acquisition Manager at G-TEC, where his primary objectives are to generate new business opportunities and foster synergies with other stakeholders in the offshore industry.
